Finishing
After making two symmetrical waffle pieces, assemble them by sewing the sides together with the wrong sides facing, using the mattress stitch technique. Leave the four corners open (do not sew them).
Stuff the waffle before closing it. Be aware that light stuffing should be done here, otherwise, you will lose the waffle pattern on this toy.
After sewing the four sides, close the corners by folding in and sewing the seams.
Raspberry
Circular CO 6 sts
Rnd 1: knit
Rnd 2: k1, m1, repeat * (12 sts)
Rnd 3-5: knit 3 rnds
Rnd 6: k2, m1, repeat * (18 sts)
Rnd 7-8: knit 2 rnds
Rnd 9: k1, k2tog, repeat * (12 sts)
Rnd 10-13: knit 4 rnds
Rnd 14: k2tog (6 sts)
Gather bind-off.
Pull the head down by passing the yarn tail through the inside of the raspberry to create the little hole of a raspberry. Secure by repeating it a few times.
Blueberry
Circular CO 8 sts
Rnd 1: knit
Rnd 2: k2, m1, repeat * (12 sts)
Rnd 3-7: knit 5 rnds
Stuff and gather bind-off.
To create a slightly flat shape of a blueberry, similar to the raspberry, pass the yarn tail through the inside of the blueberry. Secure by repeating it up and down a few times.
Now, decorate your waffle however you'd like. Yum, delicious!
Happy Knitting :)
